Benjamin Pryor is a Bristol based commercial & wedding photographer dedicated to capturing the wild places and wild food he loves; as well as the raw character in the people who grow it, cook it, and eat it.

He is also a chef with a passion for cooking on open fire, and co-founder of award-winning sustainable restaurant Poco Tapas Bar. He founded Abergavenny Food Festival’s Cooking On Fire stage where he was dubbed the ‘Keeper Of The Flame’ and has worked with many leading talents in the food industry. Over the last decade of curating menus across food and drinks, has had numerous recipes published nationally.

At the heart of running a successful restaurant is hospitality the art of making people feel warm and welcome. This is a skill which translates directly to photographing people. The best portraits always come when people are at ease and a rapport is established.

A child of the outdoors, his connection to the land and water is ever-present in his imagery; a rugged and heart-felt aesthetic. He prides himself on his ability to set his subjects at ease, giving his portraits natural authenticity. He loves to work with natural light in all its moods and is playful with focus and framing to celebrate subtle detail.

His favourite place to be is by the sea, sand between toes and salt in his hair.
