Hello & welcome! I’m Benjamin Pryor.

I’m a Bristol-based food, lifestyle and wedding photographer, drawn to wild places, wild food, and the honest character of the people who grow it, cook it and gather around it.

Before moving fully in to photography, I spent 15 years as a chef and restaurateur. I’m the co-founder of the award-winning sustainable restaurant Poco Tapas Bar, which I ran until 2024, and the founder of Abergavenny Food Festival’s Cooking on Fire stage — a role that earned me the nickname Keeper of the Flame. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside many leading figures in the food and hospitality world, curated menus across food and drink, and had numerous recipes published nationally.

At the heart of great hospitality is making people feel comfortable, seen and welcome — and that ethos sits at the core of my photography. The strongest images come when trust is built and people feel at ease, allowing something honest to emerge.

A child of the outdoors, my work is deeply influenced by land, sea and season. I bring a rugged, heartfelt aesthetic to my imagery, working predominantly with natural light and embracing its changing moods. I’m playful with focus and framing, always looking to celebrate subtle detail and quiet moments as well as the main acts.

My happy place and soul food is to be by the sea — sand between my toes, salt in my hair. I live in Bristol with my wife Naomi and our two small children, who bring daily joy, chaos and a lot of love.
