A little more about my approach
Shooting wedding’s, I’ve come ever more to realise what uniquely special events they are in our lives, and what a rare and special privilege it is to be invited to share in that day & document it. Life is a winding road and through all of its long and rambling path, we can often count on one hand the occasions where we bring all of those closest to our hearts together en masse.
A short story - shooting one wedding recently, it was late on in the reception and the elderly grandmother of the bride was sat on the edge of the dancefloor, sipping tea from a cup and saucer with her two walking sticks leaning against the table next to her. As I watched, her two young granddaughters came across to her, helped her to her feet and supported her across to the dancefloor where they started to dance around her. Her face lit up with one of the purest joys I’ve seen - a rekindling of youthful fun and abandon and she danced with them, propped up by her two faithful sticks and two loving granddaughters until they eventually led her back to her perch by the table and sat with her. In that moment I had such a powerful sense of how precious that moment was, of how unlikely it was to be repeated and of how these times when all of our special people come together to celebrate connection are so important.
That is the heart of why I love to shoot weddings. As a sensitive & observant soul, with such a passion for capturing those sparks of human connection & emotion, there’s no more profound application for my craft.
My way is unassuming and unobtrusive, documenting natural and spontaneous activity as authentically as possible, without demanding attention or intruding on interaction.

WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
All day coverage / £2100
Full coverage of your day, from any special early morning plans (think sea swims with the groomsmen/morning meditation or perhaps a yoga practise), through preparations, ceremony, wedding breakfast right the way through the first dance and beyond. I don’t leave until I’m confident I’ve captured the essence of every part of the day, including the nocturnal revelry. I’ve even been known to stay into the night and capture the starscapes & moon of a wedding night.
Rapid preview - I believe it’s important to have some special images in the days rather than weeks after your wedding day; to help you relive the joy while you honeymoon. I’ll get an initial set of 30-50 images across to you within a few days of your wedding so that you have something to share and cherish immediately.
I deliver a minimum of 600 high-resolution, finely & individually edited images.
A curated online gallery of your images, which you can share immediately and from which you and your loved ones can download directly.
The same set of high resolution images on a USB pen drive for safe keeping.
If you’ve chosen to have me shoot analogue alongside digital, as well as high resolution scans of the images you’ll receive all of the negatives from your photographs in archival sleeves also.
*I do offer shorter coverage and reduced rates for midweek & out of season celebrations, please do get in touch.

A few things past couples have said
-
“Ben took some extraordinary photographs during our wedding in Limoges. He captured all of the big moments perfectly and so many small details which would have been forgotten without his eye. He composes shots with texture, colour and light beautifully to capture the real essence of the day. Not only that, but he’s wonderful to have around!”
-
Ben’s ability to capture the macro and the micro gave the resulting collection of images an epic scale as well as a tender intimacy, whether it was a panorama of the whole wedding site taken from a drone above or a close up of a ring being slipped on a finger, the background thrown into soft darkness.
He has a real gift for making people feel at ease and there was nothing contrived or set-up in any of the exquisitely composed images, just a natural flow of energy and emotions frozen in time.
Ben also has an intuitive sense of the moment and how to frame and capture it. His ability to distil and capture the happiness of the moment is truly miraculous.

“Ben was the only photographer I wanted for our wedding. I didn’t even know if he did wedding photography, but I knew his work through mutual friends. His candid shots and eye for detail always struck me as so poetic, sensitive and light. Luckily for me he jumped at the chance. Even today, 2.5yrs later, we are still noticing more and more details in the scenes and snapshots he captured throughout the day. So much personality, vibrancy, joy and romance. We’ll truly treasure and relish these images forever. He is the best!”
